The faculty was founded in 1957. The agro-power faculty is a unique faculty in the Republic of Belarus that trains skilled specialists in the field of agribusiness power engineering.
The faculty has created 3 scientific and 44 educational laboratories. The scientific results on up-to-date directions of electrification and automatization in agriculture, on improvement of power supply reliability of rural consumers, on optimization of the operating modes of electrical equipment, on usage of non-traditional energy sources, on improvement and creation of new energy-saving technologies are widely used in the educational process.
The prospects for the development of the faculty are connected with the introduction of electrified and automated stationary and mobile installations into technological processes of plant growing and animal husbandry; improvement of electrical equipment and automation means, development of new environmentally friendly technologies, monitoring of parameters and management of biological objects of agricultural production.
The faculty includes 6 chairs:
- Electrical equipment for agricultural enterprises chair;
- Energy chair;
- Electrical supply and electrical engineering chair;
- Practical training of students chair;
- Automated production control systems chair;
- Natural sciences chair.
